If your question has not been answered or you need further help please feel free to contact us. The .lsi file keeps downloading instead of installing the software, what do I do? If you are trying to install from the web and when clicking on the 'Install Now with L.S.I.' icon it pulls up a dialog but doesn't recognize by default to use the Linux Software Installer, but allows you the option to open with a preferred application, then browse to 'Linux Software Installer (root)' or just insert the command 'lsinstall'. Note that using the 'Search and Install' menu link will not work for installing the .lsi file, it is used for accessing the search dialog. You must use the 'Linux Software Installer (root)' menu link or the command 'lsinstall' What command do I use in the 'Open With' dialog to run the Software Installer? When you first attempt to install from the web using the Linux Software Installer it may try to download the file instead of pulling up the 'Open With' dialog, the one which allows you to select to Install the Software with LSI. If so then go ahead and download the .lsi file to your desktop and click on it from there. When you are prompted to select an application to open the .lsi files with, use the command 'lsinstall' or browse to Linux Software Installer (root). This should work to set the utility to open .lsi files by default and allow your "Open With" dialog from your web browser to recognize the Linux Software Installer. I am using Debian, what do I do to get the 'Install with AptUrl' links to work? AptUrl is not installed by default in Debian or Debian based systems only Ubuntu 7.10 and higher. This doesn't stop Debian users from being able to use the protocol however. Below are directions to start using AptUrl on Debian. First download and install the following package. DOWNLOAD APTURL for DEBIAN Then follow the directions below to get it working with your preferred web browser. ICEWEASEL BROWSER (Debian Firefox) In the address bar of the browser type about:config and hit enter. You will be presented with a list of configuration otions pay no attention. Right click anywhere and choose New --> String Add the following Name: network.protocol-handler.app.apt Value: /usr/bin/apturl Now you should be able to install using apturl with Debian based systems. KONQUEROR BROWSER We must create a text file with extension. This is done with your preferred text editor.
